I have been shooting HD underwater video since 2006 exclusively with Sony equipment. Originally with a Sony HC1 HDV handicam in an Ikelite housing with various HID and LED lighting. Editing NLEs varied from Premiere Pro, Sony Vegas, Pinnacle, MS Moviemaker, iMovie and Nero Vision. After ten years and two cracked UW housings, the digital tape mechanism was ready for reitrement.

The replacement consists of a Sony RX100m5 for shooting 4K or 5.5K in a Nauticam housing with a SeaDragon 2500 LED, various filters, wide angle and macro attachments. I usually shoot footage at 24fps 1/50 either manual aperture or shutter priority as an automatic mode and about half the time in manual focus. Color space is either sLog2 with +2 stops or Cine. All editing and grading work is in BlackMagic DaVinci Resolve Studio.
